Requirements for the right distribution centre site

  • Close to town / conurbation
  • Good road traffic connections; Close to an interchange on a highway
  • Close to a distribution center (courier, express and parcel service provider)
  • Possibility of 24-hour operation and truck transport
  • No general restrictions
  • Connection to local public transport (bus, rapid-transit railway) for employees
  • Necessary connected electrical load > 1 MW
  • Telecommunications connection via glass fibers

  • Site Area > 25.000 m² in industrial area or employment zone
  • Minimum site occupancy ratio of 60 %
  • Warehouse area > 25,000 m² in the industrial area or employment zone Available clear height (from upper edge) 12 m
  • Bearing Capacity: surface/slab load of 50 kN/m², Forklift (point load) 60 kN/wheel, Racking (point load) 100 kN (on a foot plate of 150 mm x 150 mm)
